So I tore some strips and punched some stars and presto - a flag, sort of. I used real red, whisper white, brilliant blue and yoyo yellow paper. The stars were punched with Su!'s large star punch. I wanted to punch out the insides of some with the small star punch but - I didn't have it at the time (i do now-lol). A couple of the stars are popped up with dimensionals.</div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSDdakWVJEKQVf9difOVK6vh5_QJ2euMnbB7cJ6fjUmXauZo8NZKu1pfyX8tA1NUpjR90q7XvQ-PkXKxWsBRZWQcOLiScCgXYSmyZc540Qm9iYcy94qcLqCCMzcJDHpTqUyorEenctijo/s1600-h/flag.JPG"><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSDdakWVJEKQVf9difOVK6vh5_QJ2euMnbB7cJ6fjUmXauZo8NZKu1pfyX8tA1NUpjR90q7XvQ-PkXKxWsBRZWQcOLiScCgXYSmyZc540Qm9iYcy94qcLqCCMzcJDHpTqUyorEenctijo/s200/flag.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352974772237629810" /></a><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK7_gGNf1_PkDAjsnDBzxWGvPTiV9LhJ0qtbXVnd8m8l4KvaMJeBXPxQk1J1vKxmx2hsAp1PtKLT7vc4izjSccfrclMu3TNS9pYe8SimYCl3xJT8mR4IIr1QkOyeq9sfQGb5Ccnif-bNM/s200/flag+inside.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352974778433996578" /><div><br /></div><div>The card below is a very simple, yet elegant card. Actually the last few days have been really nice. Even put the top down on my miata and took a spin - love the wind in what little hair I've got-lol!<div><br /></div><div>My craft room is finally cleaned up - now I just have to do some major organizing. Look what I found when I was picking up!</div><div><br /></div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYzJVVxPaJJ5mBuXR9qf_a7OpqRU2FqL05hRwrrDAvXYh0jrRPHf2FTdZLl9LuHjmVGU8dKQSYGX9UQBdHpm125GxBRrEypNlAlIJ2GyunhrM6qmb58ngSoJ6fEXvXUbb24Msve_y7hbo/s200/passion-front.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336810712218977698" /><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD5T6vgRzPwO4nbF0Ke3nFQ3HE2fMHW4_QmvLldmNkFvZ9jsJMCTkUr2r2w8e_1Uk4FjJJs9bcGN8SiQjtFofGfhTFVnH4GwJMtY9Y45iRD1HuBqmN3SfTWm84WcmNGpk1FlZRUEFsoNY/s200/passion+inside.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336810718378377458" /></div><div><br /></div><div>This is one of my favorite cards. I used barely banana card stock and dsp strip, oval scallop punch, handsome hunter, tango tangerine and yoyo yellow classic ink. The stamp set is Inspired By Nature (one of my favorites). It is a three-fold card with a band that fits around where the two sections meet.</div><div><br /></div><div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCpL-GooE0XYbEj4mUAUg8HnmnVznIA6ZgGI2sgbPD3djxyTj_NSEUYP8C5948E2pcKwDpTneIjX5ZLAUrO3Mu5pVvqpqsW_GdAD8UVa0bO1MS48bruNWAuvBcl44lWD9j5uJMot1kMSE/s200/sock+monkey+front.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336816523746012274" /><br /></div></div><div><br /></div><div>One of my hostesses wanted to use the sock monkey on a card. As much as I like the sock monkey, it's hard to come up with unique ideas. I used chocolate chip, riding hood red, whisper white and barely banana card stock; basic black classic ink and various markers. The cupcake and pennant are popped up with stamping dimensionals and corners are rounded with our corner punch. The buttons are from our latte collection with gold cord and attached with glue dots. She was very happy with it.</div><div><br /></div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP9f_l9BShtqdlodC_bF__lhGEL4yaXUVMMjWjk8nHfr7jww_kIOuVgqhJBHbn_lbMt6ce5yU-hlSfuZOBL2yv4Va-4t-xKqez29fQzrPFCK1vT9OLqOwTSv3x7N-pDFEIPm4zV_K0wos/s200/dreams.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336816527114482754" /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>This was cased from one of SCS's galleries. The only thing I changed were the colors. The card stock is tangerine tango, kiwi kiss and barely banana. I stamped with classic basic black, used various markers, scallop punch, crimper and flower assortment designer brads. Thank you to the original designer. It's was perfect the way it was so I didn't change it.</div><div><br /></div><div>Type at you later.</div>carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-89752872877429290052009-05-11T22:19:00.000-07:002009-05-12T17:38:55.393-07:00Happy Belated Mom's Day<div>Hope everyone had a great mom's day. Got calls from my kids who live out of state, a really cute card from the son who is living at home and we all went out to dinner. Best of all was the quality time spent with my family.<br /><br /><div>Below are the explosion boxes, inside and out, I demoed at my May club. Definitely got some ooos and ahs from them. Both patterns were found on the SCS. I used just some simply scrapping kits for my embellishments.</div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334944443036527506" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmXA8PIph3VfabbxjFHkikqZ-C2ygXkpVaJNsWy1XyC65Z8GSRk8tZA9VqjFFabFYwBTd-y9gic0BVYl7sc5n8QY0D8H2lmWlrEKG9wQxd_pF8bxEECwWUPfdmeyWwPLW50zEVZ5M7mnA/s200/exp+box+1.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334945624883874546" style="WIDTH: 194px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 151px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKrF1HXZJ3NbwZNIXVg6pNFwKgIJQiEMyH7JmPpfgF15yTRWS8dB_qQEgxOuQI6Y8E_0dV21JDCZNh2zh8YLoeSxB6Wzy0IbJaNKCrfEfKw_xIIAtXXrAmXzVTmQPkWwAGtrS5-54aY1A/s200/inside+exp+box+1.JPG" border="0" /><br /></div><div>This is the first explosion box that was demoed. I used so saffron and blue bliss cardstock with a simply scrappin kit.<br /></div><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-88803949797363626562009-05-04T10:14:00.001-07:002009-05-04T10:21:20.887-07:00Great Saturday!I <strong>had</strong> a start on cleaning my craft room but had my stamping club Saturday. So, I'll start all over again next weekend-lol! The club went great - we did the projects below and I demonstrated two different types of explosion boxes made from simply scrapping kits. They all took advantage of Stampin Up's May paper special - purchase 3 - get one free. We had a great time!!<br /><br />Take care.carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-8517931006961651042009-04-29T22:16:00.000-07:002009-04-29T22:59:02.927-07:00Another Club ProjectI've finally started cleaning up my craft room since I can't find anything I need-lol. Thank you Andrea (http:/scissors-cut-paper.<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">blogspot</span>) for the inspiration. I used Top Note <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">bigz</span> die for the big shot; small, largest oval, 1/4" circle and word punches; sand, handsome hunter, whisper white and pumpkin pie <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">cardstock</span>; pumpkin pie classic ink and printed the saying off from the computer. I distressed the middle of the pumpkin to give it some <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">dimension</span>. When we do this in the club, we will use peanuts that need shelling in a cello bag. This was so much fun. Love spending my lunch at work this way! For the other two projects I'm thinking of doing a Christmas card and a paper tree. There are so many things I want to do, I just can't decide. Will post them when they are finished. Will be typing at you soon. I've had that awful stuff that's been going around for the last week and am finally feeling better. Plus I actually have my camera, flash drive and items to take pictures of in the same place! So here is what I did before I got sick.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir64Uu8V0WqFR3o223TUm39eJXQqc0KijgRKXSEpCCUflyTXHdM8nzYXk54zPTMdAWfpn-5HzesnI143wLHuGs6vlnsq7ce7QmBIC_M1ozGhLODTaiahju89sJEAsGomJaNVx3mfpFd9w/s1600-h/glass+ornament2008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265201831177983906" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir64Uu8V0WqFR3o223TUm39eJXQqc0KijgRKXSEpCCUflyTXHdM8nzYXk54zPTMdAWfpn-5HzesnI143wLHuGs6vlnsq7ce7QmBIC_M1ozGhLODTaiahju89sJEAsGomJaNVx3mfpFd9w/s200/glass+ornament2008.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYSrBqp2iRgk8hMtgwWyuwJ62wA3g0DVmm098-6DZOrQLN4isqgMtIow5bjBHny_ujgbmVPZi4fwNRSUEIO9EDKfO7q48CCytF8YFQBROYVTeyohEgWIptNWHczSO1unuuX59os5CM5YY/s1600-h/glass+ornament+2008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265202201131761426" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYSrBqp2iRgk8hMtgwWyuwJ62wA3g0DVmm098-6DZOrQLN4isqgMtIow5bjBHny_ujgbmVPZi4fwNRSUEIO9EDKfO7q48CCytF8YFQBROYVTeyohEgWIptNWHczSO1unuuX59os5CM5YY/s200/glass+ornament+2008.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I love glass ornaments! Instead of using acetate, I used whisper white cardstock. The one on top uses handsome hunter classic ink and the curly label punch bundle. I thru in some snow and hung the Merry Christmas with silver elastic cording. I will be dying some of the whisper white taffeta ribbon handsome hunter to finish it off.<br /><br />The one underneath uses red riding hood red classic ink, square scallop punch, punches three hostess stamp set and red riding hood taffeta ribbon.<br /><br />On both of them, I had to go in with a pencil and uncurl the images after they were placed in the ornament, but was able to do it without leaving any creases. And there is an image front and back with the cording glued in between. The next ones I am going to cut off the prongs and just glue the tops on.<br /><br />The whisper white cardstock was easy to put into the ornament, even doubled.<br /><br />Gotta add one more picture. This is my 19 year old going on 7 in his halloween costume.<br />Can I still say he's so cccuuuttteee or is he too old for that - Never!!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUpAEk4DYODk093oyNik7BsoNCo_OMupTfuFWRrqdxngUkT_EsYT46-yWoWU573sKlCFkJROXuj3ohWokec9kKLQHLRJ9DmqxLhJNznK0B5RVyXnEGeqwFdxIOGshOdo4fKW1v6WzNJLo/s1600-h/jt-halloween+2008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265206145645588402" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUpAEk4DYODk093oyNik7BsoNCo_OMupTfuFWRrqdxngUkT_EsYT46-yWoWU573sKlCFkJROXuj3ohWokec9kKLQHLRJ9DmqxLhJNznK0B5RVyXnEGeqwFdxIOGshOdo4fKW1v6WzNJLo/s200/jt-halloween+2008.JPG" border="0" /></a>carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-40652498705957405352008-10-23T10:53:00.000-07:002008-10-23T11:06:44.346-07:00More Pictures ComingWant you all to know I appreciate all the comments you have made about my projects. When I show them to my sweet family, I get "looks great" without them even looking! My son gives me an "it's all good mom" while he is doing one of his 10,000 texts (our bill last month had 10,000 outgoing texts from his phone. They sent the bill in a box!). You know they look really close. Any way, I'll have pictures in a couple of days-haven't had time (forlorn sigh). I did make 50-60 spiders to stick to suckers, and a bunch of tiny boxes for a gal at work. And darn, this job is so getting in the way of my stamping. Speaking of which break time is over. Type at you soon.carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-4377959679485409152008-10-14T21:09:00.000-07:002008-10-14T21:50:05.956-07:00Time Keeps on Slipping......Boy does it ever!! Especially when things are going great. My October club met last Saturday. We had a ball. It was kind of cold and windy out side so it was really nice being inside with friends. We did two cards - one using the upsy daisy set and one using the season of friendship set; and a spider halloween treat. The spider was definitely cased off of SCS and possibly the two cards as well. I've been looking at so many ideas, it is all running together so I can't remember. You gals on SCS are so talented - thank you all.<div><br /></div><div>Here they are....<br /><div><br /></div><div><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih7jriNPI_SDvVHibHcaNS20qPnTjAxiwD7MerakZwUKlpP7uM9FvgJmL7W9d9ccd56G0VqMowFQqlYWYWnrCQK_5_Hu66sN1D1qk9W2FczORz4kNwWkUalfQUA4dgUP8DETm3qH1d3zs/s200/0ct+08+sf+card.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257234363623075330" /><div><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-pTtKiRCTBO2JfsNExl-O6M3uvOf79gS9XTvS0ToxiDJWEFydBmMB2NSgLWRrsU3vgPrHD0gD4L82yle6gMuFn5HhUxR6ygx6e6PJoTuKlkTvz68g2pV3g5xB7LcPSQ4Ms7m5X8y6IbY/s200/oct08spider.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257234389402893186" /><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz6-vVevm1QONzphDygoCjkVFCRVEX2RWb03Dvvwjvp5hdzgHcYWsVjOV0zJ5VnksSeGBCeDELgHrzO2urlsq8fOpI_EYvYs6mRQF7BrMQ2vSulHagqLQklS8_kKY2hoF4-Uxw9XWp5YU/s200/oct+08+tu+card.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257234385664574514" /></div></div></div>carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-45826691996137930592008-10-04T20:33:00.000-07:002008-10-04T21:02:59.496-07:00Second Time AroundI'mmmmmm back! And still trying to figure out how to add links and "stuff" to my blog. I can see my learning curve is not as good as I think! It's a windy, rainy day here in WA. So I took this opportunity to "straighten out" my craft room. My it's amazing what you find - and I found the third project from the September club. My October club is coming up (too fast). As soon as I get the samples made, I'll post them here and in my gallery. Yep - I even started a Gallery on SCS with all of 5 cards posted. We'll be doing 2 cards (halloween and maybe Christmas) and a 3D (maybe case those cute spiders-I forgot to write down the gal's name who designed them, but I'll have it before my club meets). Now that I've got a spot to work in my craft room and my supplies put away (sort of), I can get them made. And on that note, I'm signing off. Type you soon!carolyn mcdonellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07848947931473972978noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371708578030690113.post-61336263280943099682008-10-02T06:27:00.000-07:002008-10-02T08:16:01.480-07:00This Is My Blog!!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzAcHB7J-lw-W_AVFxo-GxMaenR5SG9xwJi_Cq5vxH2NW9VH1REI17IFjcTFGJhAydTyIRanSUD1_7yg7b3ufKy-ngkLhMK2PQ2FxbLRjnFj2414_RRU6orMX3P6nddZV12S9l2MTQGI8/s1600-h/chipboard+flowercard+9-08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252560794674446210" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: pointer; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzAcHB7J-lw-W_AVFxo-GxMaenR5SG9xwJi_Cq5vxH2NW9VH1REI17IFjcTFGJhAydTyIRanSUD1_7yg7b3ufKy-ngkLhMK2PQ2FxbLRjnFj2414_RRU6orMX3P6nddZV12S9l2MTQGI8/s320/chipboard+flowercard+9-08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I'm jumpin' in, taking the plunge, going for it!
